"An Impeccable Spy: Richard Sorge, Stalin’s Master Agent" is a work written by Owen Matthews, which was first published in 2019. Born in Baku in 1895 to a Russian mother and a German father, Sorge fought in the First World War for the Imperial German Army. After the war, he joined the "Communist Party of Germany" and made his way to Moscow, where "Sorge" was employed by the "Red Army" intelligence organization. He was sent to Germany to spy on the Nazi Party and later worked as a secret agent and journalist in Shanghai. Sorge warned Moscow that Hitler intended to violate the 1939 "Non-Aggression Pact" with the Soviet Union, and sent messages that Germany wanted to attack Russia militarily.
