Parvanih Bahar is the daughter of Iran's Poet Laureate. This is the story of a young woman who was born and raised in a large, scholarly Persian family. Her life was interwined with her father's literary as well as political circles. Her childhood was spent in her parents' large, Iranian household. She shared her father's literary and political philosophy and ideas. She endured her father's life in prinson and accompanied him into exile. In this book we follow the development of this young and protected woman from birth to present time. She was an active member of the Women's Movement in the United States. As one of 72 women who organized the National Women's Political Caucus in 1971in Washington D.C., she marched against the Vietnam war. In this book, we see Washington through the eyes of a young Persian woman influenced by her father's philosophy and poetry.
