The book Sharh Rubaiyat Khayyam, along with the treatise Sharab-nameh, was compiled by Seyyed Ahmad Beheshti Shirazi. Seyyed Ahmad Beheshti Shirazi, born in 1944 in Qazvin, is an Iranian poet, writer, and researcher of mysticism and Persian literature. He has written works on Hafez studies and interpretation of his poems. The book "Ruba'i-nameh (Selected Rubaiyat from Rudaki Samarqandi to the Present Day)" (published in 1372) is one of the best Rubaiyats in Persian literature. This book includes Rubaiyats from Rudaki's time to the present day and in a separate section interprets some of the most important Rubaiyats. In the introduction to the book "Sharh Rubaiyat of Khayyam" along with the treatise "Sharab-nameh" we read: "O dear one, according to Nizami, only the prophets, saints and poets are the intimates of true friendship, which is the Oneness of God, Glory be to Him and Exalted be He. It is enough that we poets with taste and honor and intimates of God do not know their value, just as we do not know the value and position of the prophets of God and are unaware of their sacred existence. The great line was closed before and after, so the poets came and before the prophets, they are all brains and skins. These two opinions are intimates of a friend.
