In this adventurous notebook, which is the first volume of the Notebooks and Cities series, you will encounter several types of writing:
First, here are short and practical excerpts from the book Istanbul for those who have not read it or who have read it but would like to have the author's selected excerpts.
Second, parts of the travelogues of Iranian tourists from the Qajar era who traveled to Istanbul, from Naser al-Din Shah to Hajj Sayah.
Third, practical writings about the foods and sweets that can be found in Istanbul and enjoy their taste.
Fourth, parts of Turkish novels that have a glimpse of Istanbul in their hearts. These parts have been selected and translated from their Turkish versions.
And finally, songs that take you to the atmosphere of Istanbul. These songs are provided with QR codes that allow you to listen to them.
This collection is completed with color photos of Istanbul that I took myself. These photos are either not printed in the book or you have seen the black and white version. I hope this is an answer for friends who always ask why the photos in the book are black and white!
