In dealing with the issue of "marital infidelity" in Iranian films, there are two main points of view: Some people believe that the presentation of awkward topics breaks its stigma in society. Some others consider the cinema as a mirror reflection of the realities of society and believe that the excessive attention of the Iranian cinema to the issue of marital infidelity can be a warning sign of the growth of this family plague in society - especially the urban class - of Iran.
Apart from the two mentioned points of view, the present book examines the representation of "marital infidelity" in four Iranian movies with a scientific method (semiotic-sociological approach).
