Muhammad Vali Mirza was born in 1980. His father Prince Abd Al-husiyn Mirza Farman Farma was the grandson of Abbas Mirza, the Qajar crown Prince who died in 1833 A.D. before ascending to the throne. His mother Princess Izzat Al-dawlih, was the daughter of the Qajar king Muzaffar Al-din Shah. Muhammad Vali Mirza kept daily journals for sixty years. The three volumes presented in this Persian edition span the first thirty years of his adult life. First volume: "Travels with a political purpose". Second volume: "Member of Parliament". Third volume: "Recollections of events and personalities". In later years, with his desire to serve his country and its people, he became a noted philanthropist by giving lands to build medical clinics and schools in Tehran and in province. A list of these is added to the third volume of the diaries.
