Siddiqih Ahmadi är född 1962 i en liten stad i östra Iran. Hon var knappt arton år gammal. Hon är hemmafru med flera barn men har studerat psykologi på universitetet och har hittills skrivit över tio romaner och en kokbok. Denna hennes elfte roman kretsar runt har vardagslivet som tema och fokuserar speciellt på problem mellan gifta kärlekspar. Den börjar med att skildra en vårdag i mitten på mars då alla iranska familjer förbreder sig på nyårsfirandet.
