مادر و پدر" مجموعه‌ی سی‌و‌شش شعر از مجید نفیسی است در دو بخش "مادرِ مادران" و "پدرِ پدران" با شعرهایی چون "نشانی‌های مادرم", "در بازار ادویه‌ی اصفهان", "شمشیر در حوضخانه" و "دیدار خمینی" که شخصی را با عمومی, وطن را با تبعید و گذشته را با حال و آینده درهم‌می‌آمیزد. شاعر سرشناس آمریکایی نیومی شهاب‌نای در باره این شعرها می‌نویسد: "این شعرها باشکوهند و مرا عمیقا تحت تاثیر قرار دادند. تو استاد شعر پر‌روح هستی."
“Mother and Father” is a collection of thirty-six poems written by Majid Naficy divided into two parts “The Mother of Mothers” and “The Father of Fathers” including poems such as “The Signs of My Mother” “In the Spice Bazaar of Isfahan” “Sword at the Ablution Pool” and “Khomeini’s Visit” in which personal is mixed with universal, homeland with exile and past with present and future. Naomi Shihab Nye, the well-known American poet writes about this collection:
