The present presentation attempts to present the history of the first German democracy in a compact, condensed form, with particular attention to the context of domestic political events. The Weimar Republic only existed for fourteen years. Still, in this short period between the November Revolution of 1918 and the National Socialist "seizure of power" in 1933, numerous, sometimes highly complex events took place, which the reader will be introduced to in this volume, embedded in the central political lines of development, taking into account current research.
