Detective Tracy Crosswhite, a Seattle police officer, thinks above all else about solving a seemingly closed case related to the disappearance of her sister, Sarah. When Sarah's remains are finally found, Tracy returns to her old neighborhood of Cedar Grove, Washington. He decides to re-examine the evidence that led to the imprisonment of local man Edmund House for rape and murder twenty years ago. Dan O'Leary, one of Tracy's childhood friends who has now become a successful lawyer, helps Tracy to free Edmund and reopen the case of Sarah's murder.
