If we look at the history of the last hundred years in Iran, the institution of the family has changed like other social institutions. For this reason, our collective encounter with motherhood in our cultural scope has undergone tangible changes during this historical period. "Pale Blue Line" by Shiva Alineghian is a re-imagining of the experience of motherhood in modern Iran. Although this work is a narrative of a personal and limited experience, it tries to show that "motherhood" is an experience that spans history. The author has tried to present a realistic image of maternal life, an earthly image of the mother, away from the conventional mythmaking and sanctification, and of course, outside the framework of ideologies that have defined the role of mother from a male perspective. Redefining the role of mother, this contemporary author's narrative of motherhood with all its fears and hopes and its connection with the issue of identity are the themes of this book. The Pale Blue Line also aims to expand a branch of knowledge known in the Western Academy as "Mother Studies".
