Comedy Frame: When someone does something bad to you, remember what Seneca said, "Laughter, and lots of it, is the best response to things that make us cry!" Socrates also uses this method. One day, when a person sleeps in his ears, instead of getting angry, he talks about his bad luck, and that he wishes he knew when he should wear his hat while walking. I saw another great example of humor in times of trouble during my trip to Machu Picchu, Peru. The guide of our group explained that several years ago, he had accompanied an Australian group on a four-day trek along the Inca Trail, located in the Andes Mountains. After walking, the group had returned to Aguas Calientes, a nearby village, to take the train to Cusco and from there to fly, when they were informed that the train would not be able to leave for several days - the Urubamba River was in flood. And that means the passengers were now stuck in Aguas Calientes. When he told the Australian group about it, they were silent at first, until one reacted wonderfully: "Well, let's go for a drink then!" The others laughed and went to the cafe. By joking about the problem, this person prevented his own anger and found out the group's responsibility. This very nice joke prevented the possible grumblers in the future. When he turned over the drink, it was unlikely that anyone would say, "I have a better idea." Let's stay here and complain about bad times." Note also that this Australian group, by going to the cafe, managed to turn the problem into a story to be told in the future - the story of those days when they were stuck in Aguas Calientes.
