A father and a son meet after many years. The father wants to tell a story before it's too late. He tells his son about a brave little girl lying in a hospital bed a few miles away. The girl is a smart child; So smart that he knows that his daily drawings with crayons will not eliminate his cancer. But because the elders seem to be happy to see his drawings, he continues to do so. As the father talks about this brave girl, he also reveals some truths about himself: his successes at work, his failures as a father, his regrets from the past, and his hopes for the future. Now, on a cold winter night, the father is given an opportunity to do something interesting and change the fate of a girl he doesn't know much about.
