Nahid Tabatabai is a well-known writer whose stories feature women and their family issues. He takes the reader into a story that seems simple but full of emotional and moral complexities with his own smooth prose and subtle humor. Several movie adaptations have been produced from his novels and stories, of which he wrote the screenplay for one of them and was nominated for important awards. "Sixty Years" is the story of a woman named Ahos who returns to Iran on the eve of her sixty years and after forty years away from her homeland. Aho was engaged in political and party activities in his youth and during the revolution, and his parents sent him to Farang, fearing that their son would be arrested. During this trip, the deer leaves Yahya, his like-minded friend and the love of his youth, and does not hear from him again for years. On his return to Iran, Aho accidentally meets one of his college friends who was arrested at the same time as Yahya, but was released after a while. The story of "60 years old" is the story of people who were involved in important events when they were young and now they have to sit down and think about what they have done and leave the decisions they have made and the actions they have taken in the crucible of history. They have to measure the excitement of youth, idealism, bravery, fears, regrets, loves, and hates of the past with the yardstick of the past life and decide if they can forgive others and more importantly, themselves or not.
