The book "Aesthetics" "Stanford Philosophy Collection (5)" was published by Phoenix Publications.
The encyclopedia was created in 1995 by Edward Zalta, with the express purpose of providing a dynamic encyclopedia that is regularly updated, and therefore does not date in the way of conventional print encyclopedias. The encyclopedia charter allows competing articles on a topic to reflect reasoned differences of opinion among scholars. Originally, SEP was developed with US public funding by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Science Foundation. A long-term fundraising initiative to maintain open access to the encyclopedia is supported by many academic libraries and library consortia. These institutions are supported by matching funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities under a plan developed in collaboration with the Alliance for Scholarly Publications and Scholarly Resources, the International Consortium of Libraries, and the Southeast Library Network.
