The book "Political Philosophy" "Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy (6)" was published by Phoenix Publications.
The encyclopedia was created in 1995 by Edward Zalta, with the express purpose of providing a dynamic encyclopedia that is regularly updated, and therefore does not date in the way of conventional print encyclopedias. The encyclopedia charter allows competing articles on a topic to reflect reasoned differences of opinion among scholars. Originally, it was developed with US public funding by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Science Foundation. A long-term fundraising initiative to maintain open access to the encyclopedia is supported by many academic libraries and library consortia. These institutions are supported by a plan developed by SEP in collaboration with the Scholarly Publishing and Scholarly Resource Alliance, the International Library Consortium Alliance, and the Southeast Library Network, with matching funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
