The book "Mermaid" is a novel written by Kiara Kass, which was first published in 2009. After a shipwreck kills Cullen's parents, the ocean, a living, and awake being, saves him from drowning. Cullen, however, must now serve the ocean as a mermaid for a hundred years, using her otherworldly beauty and voice to lure humans to their deaths in the sea.
