Mallory is a 2020 post-apocalyptic horror novel by Josh Mahlerman and the sequel to his 2014 debut novel The Bird Box. The book was published on July 21, 2020, by Del Rey.
Two years after entering the school for the blind, Mallory and her two young children, Olympia and Tom, are forced out again when mass chaos ensues after the creatures. He sees a blind woman named Annette being driven mad by the creatures and concludes that the creatures have evolved and can now spread madness through touch. Twelve years later, Mallory's novel follows Olympia and Tom as they live in an abandoned Jewish summer camp. Tom and Olympia are now teenagers struggling under the many restrictions and expectations placed upon them. Things change when Mallory learns of another community of survivors in a remote area, and her own parents may be among the shelter's residents. Along the way, he also learns that there are people who claim to have experimented on the creatures that wiped out humanity and may pose a whole new threat to those who survived.
