This issue of Poetry of Our Time is dedicated to Khosrow Golsorkhi, a poet, critic, fighter, performer, and writer who, with his sacrifice against the system of domination, added a new idea to the history of Persian literature: creating a figure of writing that was not only inseparable from his personal and social life, but also, in a strange way, made the personality and social appearance of the writer and the writer’s writings more meaningful: the figure of the fighting poet.2 A figure whose poetry has been an accurate translation of his life and social life, in the simplest way that symbols and meaning can be conveyed, and (at the same time) in his fighting and social life, there is a one-to-one correspondence of the romanticism, audacity, and frankness within his poetry. Undoubtedly, such a place and situation in Persian poetry is defined by Golsorkhi.
