The arrival of Europeans to the American continent almost coincided with the emergence of Safavid rule in Iran, but until two centuries later, Iranians did not have much idea of this land. With the arrival of American religious missionaries to Iran and the expansion of their activities during the period of Mohammad Shah and Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, the first image of "America" and "America" as a country, government, society, and culture was obtained. An image that seemed much more friendly and sympathetic, especially compared to the two superpowers of that time, Russia and Britain. It was based on this understanding that the United States of America gradually found a place in the foreign policy of the Qajar statesmen and they tried to establish official and diplomatic relations between the two countries. The beginning of relations with America was based on different and contradictory assumptions and expectations, which made the Qajar government unable to implement most of its plans in these relations, at least in the short term.
