The book "Taslim or Islam" "Review of Islamic Historians' Narratives of Sasanian Conquest" written by "Saleeh Tabatabai" was published by Mofid University Publications.
Most of the historical reports about the events of the conquest of the Sassanid territory were written by Muslim historians who, many years after the occurrence of these events, documented their reports in this regard with the narrations of a few other Muslim narrators. They have only focused on collecting traditions and have not tried to criticize them. The consequence of such a method is that these reports contain a strange mixture of truth and exaggeration, reality and legend. In the book "Surrender or Islam: A Review of Islamic Historians' Accounts of the Conquest of Sassanid Territory", Dr. Saleh Tabatabai has tried to categorize and criticize these accounts by briefly reviewing them, and more importantly, providing criteria for their evaluation. In the first chapter, the author has discussed the inconsistent narratives of Muslim historians about the conquest of Iran. According to him, the Muslim historians who wrote about the events of Islamic history often did not narrate the small and big events of Hamadastan. It may be expected that these inconsistencies exist over the details of the events, but there are many obvious conflicts in the Islamic chronicles about the general content and even about mentioning the time of occurrence of important and major events and sometimes the order of their occurrence.
Just as a clear example in this regard, we can mention the great and very important event such as the Yarmouk War. This war, which many history scholars consider to be one of the most decisive battles in the history of the world, was fought after the death of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) between the Muslim troops and the troops of the Byzantine Empire in August 636 AD or Rajab 15 of the lunar month and led to a decisive victory for the Muslims and ended Heraclius and the Byzantines' occupation of Syria.
