Mirza Taqi Khan Amir Kabir is one of the few Iranian politicians in the last two centuries who, from the very beginning of his acquaintance with the world of politics, realized that Iran was lagging behind the civilized and industrializing world of that time, and that this gap was rapidly increasing. For this reason, he sought ways to counter it and tried to create the foundations of work in Iran. Amir Kabir rendered many services to the country and paved the way for the development and expansion of new sciences and industries in Iran. He should in fact be considered the founder of the modern Iran. The present book is organized into three general sections: · Amir Kabir's letters to Nasser al-Din Shah · Amir Kabir's documents and letters · The grandsons of the Amir and historical stories about Amir Kabir
