Viola has learned one thing very well in life: to hide. Clothes that are too big, a job far removed from her childhood passions, when she invented stories and wrote them down on sheets of paper, a good boy as a husband, with whom, however, perhaps, there has never been love. Then one day, while she is developing some photographs in the shop where she works, a tall, lanky man, still handsome despite his age, makes his way through the crowd of the shopping center: it is her father, the famous artist, the irregular, the eternal child. He has returned, he has come to look for her to propose a trip to their homeland and to tell her something very important. But how can she trust the man who abandoned her again? How can she believe in one of his acrobatic stories again? The temptation, however, is too strong and Viola accepts. As a snowy landscape passes by the window, the unexpected sincerity of that unarmed man begins to break through Viola's defenses, and when together they reach the slopes of the Sibillini, where an ancient secret is kept, a new force will overwhelm her: the force of love, which Viola has never known, of truth, of forgiveness, of a place that calls her to itself with its mysterious and enveloping light. It is a truly magical journey if the price of happiness is to abandon oneself with one's eyes closed to the power of life that is ready to welcome us. Intense, bewitching, poetic, Se chiudo gli occhi confirms Simona Sparaco as an extraordinary voice in Italian narrative.
