"Latfullah Maithami", whose introduction this book begins with, was born on the first day of Aban 1319 in Isfahan. He completed his primary education up to the 9th grade in the educational complex of Qudsiyeh. At the same time as studying in the 10th year, he was an apprentice in the market. Later, he finished his studies at Hatef High School in Isfahan. In 1338, he entered Tehran University and studied mining engineering. Then he chose petroleum engineering and graduated as a senior expert in this field in 1342. He participated in the meetings of Hedayat Mosque and Ayatollah Taleghani's lectures. In 1345, he was recruited by Iran Oil Company as a senior engineer and worked in Lavan Island. During this time, he was sent to America by the oil company to take specialized courses. Latfullah Maithami was a member of the Freedom Movement and the People's Mojahedin Khalq organization in the years before the revolution. He is among the people who were present in the founding of the Azadi movement in May 1340 with Mehdi Bazargan, Yadullah Sahabi, Seyyed Mahmoud Taleghani and Ahmad Sadr Haj Sidjavadi, etc., and in this regard, he was arrested and imprisoned several times in the early years of the 1340s. It was after the victory of the 1357 revolution that he supported the Islamic Republic with a group of his like-minded people in the form of an organization known as the "Mojahedin Khalq Movement of Iran" while maintaining a critical point of view. However, he was never given permission to work for the said organization, and in addition, he was imprisoned twice, the political-ideological magazine "Rah Mujahid" was confiscated once, and he experienced other hardships.
