The main goal and concern of the author in this book is to examine and analyze the changes and developments of rituals. It is a discussion of Iranian Shia mourning ceremonies and rituals throughout history and especially in the contemporary period and understanding the logic of these changes; In response to the question of whether ritual changes can be considered subject to an empirical-theoretical model or not. This book has two parts, which are: a "Historical Review" and a "Sociological Review" the first part, with an analytical, causal, and functional view, of the history of the origin, development, continuity, and changes of mourning ceremonies and rituals from the Ashura event to the period The contemporary has been examined in a timeline.
