"When Mehmet came to the stream at the edge of the forest, Leonid approached the window again. But Mehmet did not see him. His eyes were fixed on the small bridge over the stream he was going to cross, the ground was glistening with ice. He had taken a step towards the bridge when his foot slipped. He saved himself from falling by holding on to the wooden railing at the last moment.
He was about to stand up and start walking again when he felt someone behind him. He tried to turn his head with a start, but it was too late; he heard a deep voice, and at the same time he felt a violent blow on his back; he was thrown forward quickly, but since his hands were still on the railing, he did not fall to the ground. He tried to turn his head and see who had hit him, but he could not.
His gaze slowly went down to his chest, he could not see anything. But the weight on his back was not inconspicuous. He remained standing for a few seconds, his head was spinning, he wanted to vomit. He tried to stop it, but he could not, he realized that a dark liquid was pouring from his mouth. His hands were released from the railing, he fell face down on the ground. He hit his head on the icy wooden floor of the bridge as he fell, but he felt no pain. He only heard the footsteps of someone quickly walking away."
