Bahman Maqsoodlou is an Iranian critic, writer, film researcher, producer, and filmmaker. He has been active in the field of world cinema for more than 40 years. He has participated in many prestigious international festivals as a jury, speaker, producer or filmmaker. In addition, as a writer, critic, and editor, he won the Forough Farrokhzad Award in 1353 for the publication of the book "Special to Cinema and Theater". The book "Cinema of Iran" is one of his books which was published by New York University in 1987. This is his first book in English about the history of Iranian cinema, which drew the world's attention to Iranian cinema. Among his other books, we can mention "This Side of the Mind, That Side of the Pupil" in 1999, and "Freedom and Love in the Cinema" which was published in 2003. His new book "Alaf: The Amazing and Untold Adventures" was published in English in January 2009.
