This book is written in challenge to postmodern thought and tries to organize its critical attitude by examining the opinions of four of the main processors of this attitude. The first part, "Mindfulness in Postmodern Thought", paints a general picture of the postmodern situation and is particularly devoted to examining the opinions of Jean-Francois Lyotard and Jacques Derrida. The second part, "Nietzsche's Critique of Ethics", examines Nietzsche's views, which have had a deep influence on postmodern thought and are its forerunners. The third part of the book, "Michel Foucault and Critical Thought", actually wants to answer the question of whether postmodernism is a suitable intellectual framework for a correct and comprehensive assessment of the problems of the modern world or not. For this purpose, Foucault's work as a prominent postmodern thinker has been compared with the critical thought of Habermas, a prominent critic of postmodern thought. One of the main goals of this book, in addition to introducing postmodern thought and suggesting critical points about it, is to emphasize one aspect of philosophical thought and writing: clear thinking and commitment to an argumentative aspect in philosophical thought.
