Albert Albinus is a respected married man and art critic living in Berlin. He falls in love with a seventeen-year-old girl named Margo, whom he meets at the cinema. Albino has a secret relationship with Margo, but Albino's wife, Elizabeth, finds out about their relationship when Margo sends a letter to their home. The result of this incident is Elizabeth's separation from Albert, but instead of distancing herself from the troublesome Margot, Albert becomes more interested in her. Their relationship continues, but Margot has plans. She wants to be a movie star, and when Albinus introduces her to movie producer Axel Rex, Margot gets the opportunity she's been waiting for.
