The Book of Monotheism is a collection of seventeen lectures by Professor Martyr Morteza Motahari on "Monotheism", delivered in 1946 and 1947 AH.
In the first part of the book, the issue of monotheism is generally discussed, and whether there is a way to prove the existence of God. The following chapters of the book are dedicated to explaining the ways to prove the existence of God, namely the way of nature, scientific and quasi-philosophical ways (argument of order, way of guiding beings, way of creation), rational and philosophical ways (argument of the first mover, Sinaitic argument, existential argument).
In the chapter "Answering Doubts", two important doubts are examined., One is the compatibility of the principle of evolution with monotheism, and the other is the issue of evil, evils and irregularities in the work of the universe. In connection with the discussion of monotheism and evolution, various theories about the emergence of "species", including Darwin's theory of "evolution of species", are discussed in detail. Regarding monotheism and the issue of evil, while analyzing the nature of evil and its types, the philosophy of evil in the overall system of the world has been explained, and the existing doubts in this regard have been dispelled.
It seems that the book of monotheism has a privileged position in terms of the style of discussion and addressing scientific issues related to the issue of monotheism, and its study will be useful for different groups. After the discussion of each session, questions were raised by the audience, which the professor answered. In some cases, the questions were summarized. In one of the sessions, on the occasion of the discussion of "Matter and Energy", the late professor Reza Roozbeh (one of the founders of the Alavi School) was invited to speak on this topic. His statements have been included verbatim.
