Kashf Al-Mahjoob is one of the oldest and most reliable Persian treatises on Sufism, which includes the complete system of Sufism with its beliefs and practices. In this book, mystical controversies and current opinions are depicted, many of which are clarified by presenting the author's experiences. This book, with Persian flavor of philosophical and fictional speculations, is a piece of Ali Hajaveiri's identity, which is like a treasure of information. While writing this book, Ali Hajwiri suffered from the loss of his books that were left in Ghazni, Afghanistan. Therefore, writing this book must have taken him considerable time. It is known that he traveled for at least 40 years to regions such as Syria, Iraq, Fars, Kohistan, Azerbaijan, Tabaristan, Kerman, Greater Khorasan, Trans-Nahr, Baghdad and other places. His visit to the shrines of Bilal (Damascus, Syria) and Abu Saeed Abul Khair (Mihneh village, Greater Khorasan) are especially mentioned in the book. He met many Sufis in his travels. He claims that Sufism is completely compatible with the principles of Islam. "I have met more than three hundred saints in Khorasan alone, who lived apart from each other and had such mystical endowments that one of them is enough. They are the lights of love and happiness in the spiritual sky of Khorasan. This pilgrimage of saints and their shrines shows his attempt to find Murshid Kamil Akmal (perfect spiritual guide). He had experienced the peaks of knowledge and now he wanted to taste the taste of spirituality.
