Banknotes are one of the inventions of the Chinese people, which have been common there since the late 10th century. They are a type of paper with its price written on it and are used for buying and selling. This word was introduced to Iran during the time of Fath Ali Shah Qajar. Banknotes in their current form became common in Europe 300 years ago and today constitute the main part of the money of most countries in the world. In Iran, in 1890, a new banknote with a Persian title and the symbol of a lion and a sun and a picture of Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar and stating its value was issued for the first time. This book contains pictures of banknotes common in Iran from the Qajar period to the present. The book contains 5 chapters with the following titles: History of Money and Banknotes of the Qajar Period, the First Pahlavi Period, the Second Pahlavi Period, and the Period of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
